We are delighted to offer this superb right hand drive 308 GTS Quattrovalvole, finished in desirable Rosso Corsa with Crema leather interior in exceptional condition, red carpets and original switchgear. Options include the deep front spoiler, 16” speedline alloy wheels and a satin black roof aerofoil.
Launched in 1982 at the Paris Motor show the 308 GTS Quattrovalvole featured Fiovanti design fused with classic elements of Ferrari styling and a thoroughly modern attractive body. This 308 GTS’s bonnet unveils a stunning original engine bay fitted with the full size 3.0 V8 Quattrovalvole including twin overhead camshafts per cylinder bank.
The main change from the 308 GTSi it succeeded were the four valves per cylinder - hence its name Quattrovalvole literally ‘four valves’ in Italian. This combined with the injection system pushed output up to 240hp.
The new model could be recognised by the addition of a slim louvred panel in the front lid to aid radiator exhaust air exit, power operated mirrors with a small Ferrari badge on the casing, a redesigned radiator grille, rectangular driving lights on each side and rectangular (in place of round) side indicators. The interior also received minor updates such as a three spoke steering wheel with triangular centre.
Ordered brand new in 1984 and later delivered to the first owner a Mr Griffiths of Guernsey, this example’s original service book displays the chassis number and supplying dealer Forest Road Ferrari distributors stamp with warranty card. The multiple service stamps date back to December 1984 when the first 1,000 mile service was carried out by Forest Road Ferrari. Among the cars earlier history are invoices from Modena Ferrari displaying the sale and maintenance of the vehicle.
Unlike many other 308’s available today, this car is in wonderful condition and possesses an excellent, well documented history from new. Within the vehicles extensive folder are assorted invoices detailing any works carried out from reputable specialists and main dealers throughout its lifetime.
These include, but are not limited to, Forest Road Ferrari, Modena Ferrari, Nick Cartwright and here at Foskers. Multiple MOT certificates are present covering the last 4 decades.
This brilliant example is complete with a detailed summary of works carried out and accompanied with photographs. There are records in 2015 exhibiting comprehensive mechanical and interior refurbishment work undertaken at 58,983 miles. The vendor who commissioned the works has striven to keep the car as original as possible.
The cam belts were replaced at the same time as the other mechanical work and the car has only covered a minimal mileage since completion. Since 2016 Foskers have maintained the car every year and completed a further cam belt service in 2019 followed by an annual service, brake fluid change and various other works in March 2020.The comprehensive history folder is accompanied by its original service book, leather handbook pack and keys. The roof cover, spare wheel, tool roll and jack are also with the car.
Foskers have acquired this wonderful 308 QV and we are tempted to say there are no finer original UK RHD examples available today. Walk-around video available on request.
