1981 Ferrari 512 BB Boxer

Vehicle Description

We are pleased to offer this European supplied 512BB. Recently Classiche Certified, and in excellent and original mechanical condition, the car presents beautifully.

As with all Carburettor BBs, it was shipped to the USA and purchased new by the acclaimed collector Otis Chandler - Publisher of The Los Angeles Times.

The car then moved on to its second owner, also a collector, and remained under his ownership for nearly 25 years. Throughout this time, Boxer was impeccably maintained.

Now offered with only 24,028 miles from new, the car is accompanied by a well documented and impressive history as a collectors car. In 2001 the engine was rebuilt at 15,000 miles, in addition to the installation of a new clutch, brakes and the rebuild of the Weber carburettors. In 2009, the Boxer was then passed on to its third owner and respected historian/ writer Micheal Sheehan.

Today, the car is offered for sale as an investment grade example with its original owners manual, warranty booklet, leather wallet and toolkit.

Being one of the final carbureted boxers built and having lived the majority of its life in California, this example is highly recommended to any collector in search of the right 512. The car retains its full and original EU specification.
