Foskers Sales are delighted to offer for sale this classic 1978 Ferrari 308 GT4 finished in desirable Rosso Corsa with Crema hide and red carpets.
The 308 GT4 made its first public appearance at the 1973 Paris Motor Show and production started shortly thereafter. Like the 246 Dino, the 308 GT4 carried only ‘Dino’ badges throughout the first few years of production. The 308 GT4 was a groundbreaking model for Ferrari in many ways. It was the first Ferrari to be powered by a transversely mounted V8 engine and the first Ferrari designed by Bertone. It was a great success for Ferrari and almost 3,000 examples were built over six years of production until 1979.
Supplied new by Modena, East Horsley and registered 01/09/1978 this 308 GT4 - chassis number 14354 - has a comprehensive history file containing a wealth of supporting documents for services, cam belt renewals and previous MOT’s corroborating the 65,000 miles the car has been driven to date. The vehicle is accompanied with the owners leather hand book pack, service book, set of keys and tool jack kit.
This desirable colour combination really enhances the beautiful Bertone designed bodywork and the interior shows very little sign of wear. The external trim, chrome, wheels and the glass are also in very good condition. Importantly the foam in the seats remains firm and supportive and carpets show minimum wear. The dash and all instruments/controls are also in excellent condition. The engine bay Is clean and has been subject to a recent full mechanical overhaul.
UK delivered, factory RHD model the car is confirmed as having air conditioning, 5 Spoke Magnesium wheels and electric windows. First seen and a car well known to Foskers since 2013 this Ferrari drives as well as it looks in the pictures. It will come supplied with a service and MOT for the new owner to enjoy.
The Dino is practical, it has a reasonable sized boot and the rear seats provide additional space. The Iconic shape has aged gracefully and the renewed interest in the 308 GT4 has been reflected in the way prices have begun to appreciate in recent years. Relatively simple to look after and very affordable making it a great first Ferrari. This example is not to be missed.
